AHERA Asbestos Worker: initial training [32 hr]
This four-day training, approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, is mandatory for any workers removing asbestos in schools and all personnel involved in asbestos-related activities in public and commercial buildings. Course curriculum includes: history of asbestos; health effects; medical surveillance; federal/state/local regulatory compliance; respiratory and personal protection; state-of-the-art work practices and procedures, and "hands-on” training. |

AHERA Asbestos Contractor Supervisor: initial training [40 hr]
This EPA-approved five-day class is intended for supervisory personnel who direct asbestos abatement projects. The curriculum meets EPA/AHERA requirements as well as the National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS) and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101/1910.1001. Contractor/Supervisor trainees receive all subject matter offered in the Worker course in addition to instruction on supervisory techniques; contract specifications; legal considerations; insurance types; coverage limitations and bonding. |

Hazardous Materials Worker: HAZWOPER initial training [40 hr]
Intended for site workers; operators; handlers; personnel at treatment/storage /disposal facilities; and others needing to comply with OSHA initial 40-hour training requirements. HAZWOPER provides knowledge skills necessary to assist with remedial operations surrounding a hazardous materials incident and utilizes a combination of classroom presentation and "hands-on" field exercises. Course syllabus covers: hazardous materials recognition; toxicology; medical surveillance; chemical hazards; respiratory and personal protection; monitoring equipment and procedures; regulatory compliance (OSHA, SARA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT); confined space entry; operational zone determination; spill control engineering and decontamination. |

Permit Entry Confined Space Training [16 hr]

Respiratory Protection [40 hr]
This is an in-depth course for respiratory protection examining the history and applicable rules and regulations surrounding respirators, including all elements needed for a respiratory protection program. All types of air purifying and supplied air respirators, including the SCBA, will be discussed and demonstrated. Fit testing will also be covered for qualitative and quantitative methods, including “how-to” exercises. The course is taught by Certified Industrial Hygienists. |
