AHERA Asbestos Contractor Supervisor: initial training [40 hr]
This EPA-approved five-day class is intended for supervisory personnel who direct asbestos abatement projects. The curriculum meets EPA/AHERA requirements as well as the National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS) and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101/1910.1001. Contractor/Supervisor trainees receive all subject matter offered in the Worker course in addition to instruction on supervisory techniques; contract specifications; legal considerations; insurance types; coverage limitations and bonding.

Hazardous Materials Worker: HAZWOPER initial training [40 hr]
Intended for site workers; operators; handlers; personnel at treatment/storage /disposal facilities; and others needing to comply with OSHA initial 40-hour training requirements. HAZWOPER provides knowledge skills necessary to assist with remedial operations surrounding a hazardous materials incident and utilizes a combination of classroom presentation and "hands-on" field exercises. Course syllabus covers: hazardous materials recognition; toxicology; medical surveillance; chemical hazards; respiratory and personal protection; monitoring equipment and procedures; regulatory compliance (OSHA, SARA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT); confined space entry; operational zone determination; spill control engineering and decontamination.

Lead based paint Training for Renovators & Remodelers course - Initial
[8 hr.]

Nationally certified EPA approved training course for all contractors who may disturb lead based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools built prior to 1978. Course content includes all topics required for EPA certification of training. Course also includes EPA approved clearance testing materials. Requires passport type photo or 600x600 color JPEG photo for submittal to EPA. This course does not substitute for the EPA worker course for lead based paint abatement. Minimum of 1 year experience as a certified lead based paint abatement worker or 2 years experience in a related field (e.g., lead, asbestos, or environmental remediation work) or in the building trades is required. 4 Hour refresher training required every 5 years to maintain accreditation.

Lead based paint Training for Renovators & Remodelers course- Refresher [4 hr.]
This course is required ever 5 years to maintain accreditation as a lead based paint Renovator or Remodeler. Topics include regulatory changes, new tools and techniques and a review of the initial training topics. Those persons previously trained and certified in the following courses need only take to refresher training to become accredited as a Renovator or Supervisor:
           Abatement worker or supervisor course accredited by EPA, or an EPA authorized State or Tribal program.

  •  Joint EPA-HUD Lead Safety for Remodeling, Repair and Painting, 2003 (EPA747-B-03-001).
  •  EPA Model Training Course Minimizing Lead-Based Paint Hazards During Renovation, Remodeling, and Painting, 2000 (EPA 747-B-00-005).

This is an in-depth course for respiratory protection examining the history and applicable rules and regulations surrounding respirators, including all elements needed for a respiratory protection program.  All types of air purifying and supplied air respirators, including the SCBA, will be discussed and demonstrated.
