SCS ENGINEERS ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF
 DAVID F. LANEY, CHMM, TO THE PHOENIX OFFICE

Phoenix, AZ – Brad Johnston, Office Director of the SCS Engineers’ Phoenix office, is pleased to announce that Mr. David F. Laney, CHMM, has joined SCS Engineers (SCS) as Manager of Environmental Services. He comes to SCS from Engineering and Environmental Consulting, Inc. (EEC) where he was a Vice President and Director of Environmental Services.

Mr. Laney will manage SCS professionals in the Phoenix and Tucson offices. He will also be responsible for directing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, soil and groundwater remediation, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and storm water permitting. In addition, Mr. Laney will be responsible for all aspects of project administration and client service including project scoping and scheduling, cost estimating, contract administration, invoicing, oversight of field activities, preparation and senior technical review of deliverables, and ongoing communications to ensure client satisfaction and high quality service.  
 
Mr. Laney has 22 years of professional experience in environmental consulting.  He has directed numerous Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments and investigations and has directed the design, construction and operation of reliable, cost effective remediation systems for soil, groundwater, and subsurface vapors at sites contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, metals, pesticides, explosives and PCBs. He has extensive experience with Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) sites and federal (CERCLA) superfund sites. He is also experienced in the application of risk based cleanup standards, UST/AST removal, regulatory compliance audits, development of stormwater pollution prevention plans, NPDES permitting, development of chemical risk management programs, litigation support, and development of customized and web-based environmental data management and GIS systems.

Mr. Laney is affiliated with the Arizona State Bar - Environment and Natural Resources Law Section, the Arizona Association of Industries, the Arizona Hydrological Society and Environmental Professionals of Arizona. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
