FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 16, 2006 Contact: Joseph Henry Liserio Joins SCS Engineers Long Beach, CA - SCS Engineers (SCS) is pleased to announce that Joseph Henry Liserio, CIH, CSP, has been appointed Corporate Health and Safety Director. Mr. Liserio’s professional career spans over 20 years and includes the subjects of industrial hygiene and process and workplace health and safety. Mr. Liserio is well-versed in federal occupational safety and health, and environmental regulations such as the regulations from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) including Process Safety Management; the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Clean Air Act (CAA). In addition, he has significant experience in developing and applying behavior-based health and safety programs. Mr. Liserio has extensive experience in the calibration and use of a wide variety of industrial hygiene and air monitoring equipment, such as portable gas chromatographs, X-ray fluorescence detectors, and devices to monitor particulates, volatile organics, noise. He has received specialized training from the OSHA Training Institute in the areas of respiratory protection, industrial hygiene sampling techniques, safety hazard recognition, and noise evaluation and abatement. Mr. Liserio earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a Certified Comprehensive Practice Industrial Hygienist, American Board of Industrial Hygiene (CIH #5363), and a Certified Safety Professional. Mr. Liserio’s primary duties and responsibilities at SCS include: · Directing the companywide health and safety plan program, · Performing office and field work-site hazard audits to verify compliance with OSHA and related regulations, and · Providing health, safety, and industrial hygiene services for specific SCS projects. Prior to joining SCS, Mr. Liserio was employed by OSHA, two oil companies, and two other environmental consulting firms. About SCS Engineers |
