FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 4, 2011 Contact: San Diego Redevelopment Agency Extends SCS Engineers Environmental Consulting Services Contract SAN DIEGO, Calif.— The City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency has extended SCS Engineers’ contract for an additional year. Since 2007, SCS has provided a range of environmental consulting services to the Agency in support of its redevelopment activities. These services have included completing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation planning and design, and assisting with writing grants for obtaining funding for Brownfield redevelopment. SCS recently assisted in obtaining a $400,000 grant to the City from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Brownfields Program. SCS conducted research on sensitive receptors and possible Brownfield sites in two redevelopment areas; facilitated the public/private partnership; and collected data for Agency staff for use in the grant proposal. The Agency is currently implementing the City Heights Redevelopment Area and Central Imperial Redevelopment Area Brownfields Project.
