Stormwater runoff causes water quality problems, including threats to
human health, ecosystems and the physical shapes of natural
environments around which our businesses, homes and parks are built.
Poor stormwater management can also lead to unnecessary flood damage,
creating burdensome costs to landowners and taxpayers. This website is
dedicated to the dissemination of information regarding financing,
management, and planning for San Diego's stormwater, which can be found

California Businesses Could
Face Costly Compliance of
Pending Statewide Industrial Storm Water Permit

A new state storm water permit targeting
industrial activities has caused concern among California businesses --
and for good reason. If the permit is adopted, thousands of businesses
statewide could be forking over an additional $700 bucks a year in
permit fees, not to mentions thousands of dollars to implement more
stringent storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and

A new wave of federal storm water
regulations
– 12 years in the making – is coming to a town near
you.
Since 1990, municipalities nationwide have operated under the National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) storm water program,
part of the federal Clean Water Act set forth by the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA)... By March 10, 2003, municipalities falling
under the Phase II umbrella must have compliant storm water programs in
place or face potential enforcement from the EPA. read

Storm Water Regulation?
On December 8, 1999, Phase II of the NPDES
storm water program (63 FR 1536) was issued in the Federal Register (64
FR 68722). A summary of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
