SBA Approves Harris Environmental Group and SCS Engineers Mentor Protégé Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently approved a Mentor-Protégé Agreement (MPA) between the Harris Environmental Group and SCS Engineers. The SBA Business Development Mentor-Protégé Program (8(a) SDB) is designed to enable larger firms to provide business development assistance to 8(a) SDB Program participants.

Under the environmental consulting MPA, SCS Engineers will support the Harris Environmental Group with management, technical, and federal contracting expertise; along with general and administrative assistance. The Harris Environmental Group is an SBA Certified 8(a) SDB, HUBZONE and EDWOSB firm with 35 employees located in five offices in western states.

Combining the expertise of both firms will enhance Harris Environmental Group’s ability to grow and be more competitive. With the MPA, there is potential for the firms to jointly pursue 8(a) SDB set-aside opportunities to provide the following environmental consulting services:

Cultural & Historic Resources Management Pollution Prevention
Environmental Compliance Risk Assessments
Environmental Data Management Solid Waste Management
