SCS provided operations services for the compost facility located in Lexington. The facility accepts yard waste and uses an open windrow method of composting. Operations services included provision and use of a Komptech X-60 compost turner to turn the windrows. Lexington sold the finished product through its network of purchasers.

SCS tasks included the following:

  1. Prepare a layout of the Site to prepare for operations.
  2. Provide a compost turner, operated by SCS staff, to turn and manage windrows on the site.
  3. Monitor the windrows for temperature and moisture, and maintain records of the measurements.
  4. Prepare reports to document temperature and moisture monitoring.
