Submit Your Comments on the Proposed ELG Rule by July 6

June 21, 2017

On June 6 the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, published in the Federal Register its proposed rule postponing several upcoming compliance deadlines in the Agency’s Effluent Limitations Guidelines (ELG) regulation under the Clean Water Act.

The proposed rule would suspend certain compliance dates indefinitely “until EPA promulgates a final rule specifying compliance dates.” Specifically, the proposed rule would postpone the November 2018 deadlines for new, more stringent standards related to fly ash transport water, bottom ash transport water, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) wastewater, flue gas mercury control wastewater, and gasification wastewater until EPA completes its reconsideration of the ELG Rule.

The proposed rule is subject to a 30-day public comment period that began June 6 when the rule was published in the Federal Register. Submit your public comments on the proposed rule by July 6, 2017.
