About the Webinar:

LFG wellfield management is an integral operations element for facilities that include MSW landfills as a part of their solid waste management program. Effective management encompasses technical, administrative, and regulatory strategies and practices that are important keys to a successful endeavor. This SWANA Webinar will provide an overview of the strategies and practices that are integral to effective LFG wellfield management.

LFG wellfield management requires an understanding of how it fits into the scope of operating a modern MSW facility. For most facilities, the existence of an LFG wellfield and the process of managing it are dictated to the landfill owner/operator by regulation. There are significant cost and risks inherent in this element of operating a landfill. Regulatory compliance is a factor in financial and risk management considerations, as well as being a factor affecting public/industry perception of the landfill owner/operator.

An effective LFG wellfield management program addresses the cost and risk factors noted through planning and execution of technical, administrative, and regulatory strategies and practices. During this webinar, we will look at some of the most important considerations for proper management. The presentation will summarize strategies and practices to be considered and implemented to achieve the effective execution of a good LFG management plan.
