Accounting Supervisor

What we are looking for

We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to oversee many of the daily operations within the accounting department, including supervising staff, ensuring accurate financial records and reports and overseeing the various closing processes that occur each month. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a supervisory role, be an excellent communicator and comfortable mentoring and guiding staff professionals. This position can be hybrid or fully on-site.

How you can make an impact

Supervise and lead a team within the accounting department, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and efficiency

Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP

Evaluate and implement effective accounting policies and procedures to improve internal controls and streamline processes

Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring classification and accurate recording of transactions

Use online banking to process electronic payments, run reports, and approve staff changes

Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends and anomalies, and providing insightful recommendations to management

Review and approve the posting of all transaction files within the ERP system in communication with office managers and staff

Support Controller/Assistant Controller with our annual financial statement audit and tax compliance filings

Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members

Assist in the hiring and training of accounting staff, as needed

Stay up to date on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices, and implement appropriate changes in processes and systems

Assist in the managing and forecasting of cash flow daily, including the utilization of the companys line of credit

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required

5+ years of experience in accounting required, experience in a supervisory role preferred

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting

Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel

Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint accounting software preferred

Pay range for this position is $85 to $95k depending on experience. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
