Entry-Level CAD Drafter

Job Summary 

SCS Engineers is a 100% employee-owned environmental firm. Since 1970, weve designed and implemented sustainable solutions for the solid and hazardous waste industries. Our work directly and materially improves the natural environment and combats climate change. We are looking for a CAD Drafter that performs drafting, layout work, and straightforward calculations relative to Civil Engineering design/construction drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs drafting, layout work, and straightforward calculations relative to design/construction drawings
• Understand drawing review process, Understands the use of and importance of drafting standards, layers, linetypes, pen tables.
• Work from existing maps or sketches to prepare plan set drawings such as site plans, existing conditions plans, details, corrections to drawings, etc
• Must be able to communicate professionally using Outlook email, telephone. Competent use of Microsoft Word and basic understanding of Excel.
• Directly communicate issues and foreseeable problems to Project Managers quickly

Qualifications

• Competent use and knowledge of AutoCAD 2018 with school or work experience is required.
• Associate degree or vocational school training in drafting is preferred.
• The desire and ability to learn Civil 3D, landfill design and environmental services that SCS provides required.
• Self-motivated, driven, reliable, and good communication skills.
