SCS Engineers is looking for an Environmental Services Practice Leader to join our established team serving the Northern Virginia and mid-Atlantic markets. You will be hybrid out of the Reston, Virginia office of SCS Engineers. You would serve as the Deputy Environmental Services (ES) Practice Leader for the mid-Atlantic region (Massachusetts to South Carolina) under the direction of the current leader and will be in charge of growing our business in the industrial/commercial and real estate markets. How you can make an impact

You will wear several hats, including project management responsibility, business development responsibility focused on growing the ES Practice, managing and mentoring ES staff, providing technical expertise, and serving as a Seller-Doer.

In serving as the succession plan for assuming the role as our Environmental Services Practice Leader, you will contribute to our growth by:

  • Develop new and existing clients
  • Integrate with other ES staff in the Mid-Atlantic region (~ 15 satellite office locations) and across the company
  • Manage and be responsible for financial metrics of the Mid-Atlantic business unit ES practice
  • Seek profitable ways to increase ES services and staff across the Mid-Atlantic business unit

As a Seller you will contribute to our growth by:

  • Playing a lead role in new client acquisition
  • Collaborating with us as we develop strategies for expanding ways in which we contribute to our clients success
  • Reviewing RFPs, assisting with go/no go decisions, drafting and reviewing proposals
  • Enhancing the value of the services that we perform for existing clients

As a Doer you will work with a team of professionals, including SCS national experts in various fields, to assist our clients in resolving a wide variety of environmental challenges to include:

  • Environmental Due Diligence – Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments
  • Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation – soil, groundwater, stormwater, wastewater, subsurface gas, vapor intrusion
  • Brownfield Assessment and Redevelopment
  • Environmental Permitting, Reporting and Compliance – RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, CAA, SDWA, CWA, FIFRA, OPA, EPCRA, NEPA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s of Science in an environmental-related science or engineering field required
  • Minimum of 15 years of related work experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years working at an environmental consulting firm required
  • Business Development experience in the northern Virginia or mid-Atlantic market required
  • Valid drivers license and driving record in good standing required
  • Professional registration (e.g., PE, PG) preferred

Pay range for this position is $120k to $160k depending on experience. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
