Public Works Have Pressing Budget Concerns; SCS Can Help

September 9, 2020

Free financial planning webinar and microanalysis from your colleagues at SCS

Utilities and the public sector provide life-sustaining services to their citizens and communities while managing budget constraints and maintaining affordable rates. SCS Management Services® supports organizations responsible for managing solid waste, stormwater, wastewater, brownfields-remediation, and energy programs that require integrated skill-sets and financial sustainability for optimal value.

SCS Engineers is offering a free webinar with our experts Vita Quinn, Amy Dzialowski, and Bob Gardner, who will discuss the issues municipal public utilities, including solid waste divisions, are facing as general funds are being diverted from program support, and as municipal revenue streams begin feeling the financial strain.

Even municipalities with planned budgets can benefit from the panelists’ expertise, as budgets likely will need amendment multiple times in 2020 and 2021. The panelists discuss the current funding situation and share ideas and strategies to address shortfalls, and they demonstrate modeling scenarios of near-term budget and operational impacts. The second half of the hour-long webinar is devoted to Q&A and an open forum for idea exchange.

In the future, SCS’s free webinars will continue to cover revenue diversification alternatives, realistic cost projections, developing a 5-year strategic plan, and funding for specific waste management needs such as recycling and waste diversion. We’ll also be covering many other topics.

These webinars are free of sales pitches; they are educational in nature.
