Mr. Restrepo is a Project Manager with over 15 years of professional experience, specializing in solid waste engineering, including landfills, material recovery facilities, landfill gas design, landfill gas operation and maintenance, transfer station design and permitting, compliance with standards and specifications, cost estimates for closure and long-term care, landfill inspection, compliance reporting, and construction administration services. He has a broad range of experience working with the regulatory requirements of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Hillsborough County, FL, and the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board.
Prior to joining SCS, Mr. Restrepo was a Senior Project Engineer for HDR Engineering, Inc. for nine years, where he worked on designs, specifications, and permit applications for numerous landfills, gas collection systems, recycling facilities, transfer stations, and convenience centers Tasks included landfill grading plans; erosion and sediment controls; final buildout plans; fill sequence and side slope infill plans; leachate generation, collection system, storage and containment tanks, and pumping stations; landfill gas systems; and exposed geomembrane cover system design. He has provided construction quality assurance for landfill cell expansions and for landfill gas collection and control system construction. He also evaluated a previously mined phosphate property for development as a Class I landfill, and designed plans to stabilize a sinkhole formation at a landfill. Mr. Restrepo began his career as a solid waste engineer with Jones Edmunds and Associates, where he worked on leachate collection and detection system designs, environmental resource permits, landfill certifications, and a waste tire processing facility.
