The 11th Intercontinental Landfill Research Symposium (ICLRS 2022) will take place on the East Coast of the United States in September 2022. The exact date and location will be announced shortly.
The ICLRS is the premier international meeting for exchange of ideas among landfill researchers throughout the world. The Call for Sessions is currently open through February 25, 2022. Session proposers should provide a paragraph on the topic background and list session objectives, subjects to be addressed, and potential presenters. Abstracts will be due in the Summer.
In contrast to other meetings, the focus of this meeting is on leading edge research covering all aspects of landfills. The objectives of the symposium are to (1) assemble world’s leading researchers and practitioners in the solid waste field, (2) address a broad range of topics related to landfills, and (3) discuss and debate current knowledge and future directions. The emphasis of the ICLRS is on critical discussion and detailed exploration of a topic. To this end, sessions are typically 2-3 hours and include 4 to 5 presentations. Each session is designed so that at least 50% of the time is spent on discussion. Past ICLRS Sessions included:
Organizers: Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF), Tarek Abichou (Florida State University), Morton Barlaz (North Carolina State University), Nicole Berge (University of South Carolina), Anders Lagerkvist, (Luleå University of Technology) and Debra Reinhart (University of Central Florida)
