landfill efficiencies

SCS Engineers Welcomes Barry Sutch, P.E.

July 18, 2023

Barry Sutch joins SCS Engineers.

SCS Engineers welcomes Barry Sutch, P.E., to the environmental firm’s Solid Waste Management practice, which supports municipal and private sector ventures nationwide. As a Project Director, Sutch will work with clients in the Mid-Atlantic region and be available as a resource to other SCS regions.

Sutch brings decades of disposal operations, engineering, and management experience from the largest waste firm in North America and from his work overseas as well. SCS clients will appreciate Sutch’s informed perspective in creating opportunities for greater operational efficiencies.

The solid waste industry, especially landfills, must operate as efficiently as possible in today’s environment. Changing federal and state regulatory policies burden operations and facilities with increasing operational processes and costs, with funding often lagging behind rule-making.

“We are excited to have Barry join our team as a colleague and a fellow employee-owner,” says SCS Vice President Eric Peterson. “I’m confident his expertise will further our reputation as a client and industry advocate for practical approaches to environmental management and compliance.”

Barry Sutch is a dynamic, seasoned professional with valuable insight regarding the solid waste industry marketplace and delivering solid waste professional services to clients. He will be an integral part of SCS’s multi-faceted teams bringing expertise in the design and operations of landfills, waste treatment facilities, complex wastewater treatment, renewable energy facilities, and other major infrastructure projects.

Sutch has professional affiliations with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Professional Engineers and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

We welcome you to learn more about Barry Sutch’s work, background, and education on the SCS Engineers website.
