October 27, 2020
The Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) will host its 2020 National Conference at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida, October 27-29, 2020. The annual RETA National Conference provides three days of hands-on training, workshops, technical presentations, and opportunities to mingle with RETA exhibitors and sponsors. This educational conference also offers professional development hours (PDH) for RETA certified attendees. SCS Tracer, a specialty group of SCS Engineers, will again be a sponsor of the conference.
As in previous years, several members of the SCS Tracer Environmental team will be participating in a number of educational events:
Bill Lape, Project Director with SCS Tracer, will teach a workshop on proper Management of Change (MOC) procedures. Bill will also give a presentation on the effects of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulation on the ammonia refrigeration industry. Bill sits on the RETA Board of Directors.
Gene Dumas, Project Manager, will teach a 3-day Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) review course, which is designed for new ammonia refrigeration operators with entry-level knowledge. As the RETA Nominations Committee Chair, Gene will also present the National Awards at the Awards Banquet.
Eric Girven, Ammonia Refrigeration Advisor for SCS Tracer and President of the Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) Chapter of RETA, will teach a Hands-On Strainer Cleaning workshop.
Juan Parra, Senior Project Professional, will be teaching a workshop titled “How to Properly Complete an IIAR 6 Safety Inspection Checklist Form.”
SCS Tracer professionals will be available at Booth #507 & 509 to answer your questions related to compliance with Process Safety Management/Risk Management Program (PSM/RMP), and the services we offer to manufacturing and cold storage facilities with ammonia refrigeration systems. We hope to see you there!
