The New Jersey Composting Council and the Rutgers EcoComplex are co-hosting the 2022 Organics Waste Management Summit, “Compost – Climate Change Connection,” on October 19, at the Rutgers EcoComplex in Bordentown, New Jersey.

Keynoting the event will be Dr. Lily Pollens, author of Resisting Garbage: The Politics of Waste Management in American Cities. A PhD in city planning from MIT, Dr. Pollens examines how cities can adopt waste management reforms to defy pressure towards disposability. Her work traces the complications and potential that urban-scale resistance generates, and finds reason for optimism in some subtle, yet radical, choices that city governments are making around the world.
