SCS Engineers Awarded Contract to Decommission Groundwater Treatment System at the Morgan Hill Corporation Yard

July 7, 2015

MORGAN HILL, CA — The Morgan Hill Corporation Yard Commission selected SCS Engineers to decommission the groundwater treatment system at the City’s Corporation Yard Project. SCS will provide services including preliminary field activities such as updating the existing Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan, backfilling extraction well vaults, and preparing and submitting a System Decommissioning Summary Report to the State Water Resources Control Board.

“SCS’s familiarity with the Morgan Hill Corporation Yard will let them decommission the site’s groundwater treatment system in an ethical and environmentally responsible way,” said Julie Behzad, Senior Civil Engineer for the City of Morgan Hill and a member of the Commission. “This project highlights just how much recycling is possible in projects like this.”

SCS Engineers’ previous experience at the site included monitoring, remediation system engineering, and operation and maintenance support for the site.

Following the current plan, recycled soil and Class 2 base rock will replace extracted materials while all recyclable extracted materials will be sent to an off-site recycling center.
