Deji Fawole, NICET, has over 30 years of experience in the solid waste industry and has been with SCS Engineers since 1995. Mr. Fawole serves as a Project Manager and Office Manager of our Columbia, Maryland regional office.
Mr. Fawole has 25 years of experience in the solid waste industry. Mr. Fawole serves as a Project Manager and the Office Manager in our Columbia, Maryland regional office. He has significant experience coordinating and directing activities of field and office personnel, reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings, performing constructability reviews, and preparing engineering cost estimates. He leads SCS’s services in landfill construction quality assurance (CQA) and material testing, transfer station construction, and landfill gas-to-energy facility construction. He is certified under NICET for construction inspection of geosynthetics materials installation and soils and provides resident engineering and lead CQA services throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Mr. Fawole also has experience with international assignments under the USEPA Methane-to-Markets initiative.
Mr. Ferris is a Project Manager for our OM&M Division in Taunton, MA. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Andrew Fiala, CIRO, is a Project Manager for the Risk Management group at SCS Tracer Environmental. His primary responsibility is to assist facilities that handle hazardous materials in addressing EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP) and OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM). Those duties include facilitating onsite Process Hazard Analysis studies, Process Safety Management auditing, and Risk Management studies.

He’s accomplished many successful waste diversion and recycling programs and sustainable facilities, including a key role in developing a pilot anaerobic digestion facility that processes food waste and other organics into energy. This facility was the first in California to process organics from the municipal solid waste stream
Mr. Foland has over 33 years of experience in LFG control and field supervision and implementation of environmental gas testing, monitoring, and construction services. He conducts field activities in energy resource development for municipal and industrial solid waste site owners and operators, as well as site developers.

He is experienced in every aspect including design, plan check, cost estimating, project management, oversight of LFG control/recovery system construction, including installation of extraction wells, trench excavation, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe fusion, header line survey and placement, installation of condensate holding tanks, pumps, blowers, and flares (including concrete pads and electrical). He monitors and operates gas recovery collection systems and recovery process plants at landfill sites, participates in landfill gas recovery potential evaluation testing, operates various types of instruments, meters, measuring devices, analytical equipment for landfill gas migration and control system evaluation and control testing. He performs plant startup, shutdown, and maintenance overhauls.

He performs subsurface drilling, geologic and lithologic logging, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring system installation, lithologic logging of soil and rock core samples, groundwater sampling and analysis, soil sampling, storm water sampling, analytical evaluation, statistical analysis of groundwater data, landfill flare and gas monitoring systems, regulatory compliance, NPDES services and decibel testing.

On numerous environmental projects, Mr. Franks responsibilities and duties have included asbestos sampling/abatement oversight; lead soils analysis; PCB contaminated soils/concrete and remediation; wetland delineation; preparing, collecting and analyzing technical data for Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESA’s); field sampling of groundwater, soils, and soil gas extraction for intrusive Phase II ESA’s; and plume delineation by overhead vapor monitoring, gas chromatographic analysis, membrane interface probe, and laser-induced fluorescence.
