sewer pretreatment systems

Missouri AWWA & MWEA Joint Meeting, Osage Beach

March 27, 2022

The Missouri Section of the American Water Works Association (MO-AWWA) and the Missouri Water Environment Association (MWEA) are hosting their joint annual meeting at Margaritaville at Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, MO, March 27-30, 2022.

SCS Project Director, Mark Pearson, will present on “Makin’ Bacon: DAF FOG Removal at a Bacon Production Facility in Salt Lake City, UT” (March 29 at 10:15 am):

A bacon microwave production facility needed to improve its discharges to the municipal sewer system. SCS Engineers helped by improving the existing pretreatment system. Like most food production facilities, flows are consistent during the day shift and increase during the cleaning phase overnight. It was decanting Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG) in this case. SCS added equalization to prevent shock loads to the existing Dissolved Air Floatation Thickener/Clarifier and added chemical dosing and mixing equipment to comply with municipal discharge requirements.

The conference will include an exhibit hall, several networking opportunities, and more.  Registration begins January 26.  Click for more information
