Patty Herman

Patty Herman provides technical support for mining related projects in southern Illinois, among other projects. She works in diverse and unique habitats, enhancing her awareness of the fragility of the ecosystem and the need to protect it, especially for agencies during the permitting process. Her experience includes writing and executing management plans and permits using her expertise in land management techniques.
During graduate school, she was selected by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the Natural Heritage Residency program. The residency provided exposure to resource management in both public and private sectors, and interaction with many federal, state, and local agencies, NGOs, and landowners. Ms. Herman is skilled at finding common ground among stakeholders, agencies, and the public to create safe land management for industrial and manufacturing. She has a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences.
