Ambient Air Monitoring – Department of Parks and Recreation, OHMVR Division, Pismo Beach, California

This ongoing project is part of an effort to measure the effectiveness of dust control activities that have been implemented with the goal of reducing ambient particulate matter.

Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area (ODSVRA) is subject to the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District’s Rule 1001, Coastal Dunes Dust Control Requirements (Dust Rule). The Dust Rule requires the ODSVRA to implement dust reduction activities and assess the reduction in particulate matter.

Measurement equipment included 5 E-BAM monitoring stations and approximately 12 Saltation Monitoring Stations. All data recovery goals on this project were met and final deliverables were provided prior to the performance end date.
