Ambient Air Monitoring – Grand Canyon Air Quality Impact Study, Salt River Project

A series of long-range plume studies were conducted on power plants near the Grand Canyon region in Arizona. Perfluorocarbon tracer gases were entrained into the Mojave Power plan stack emissions to track plume dispersion and transport over a 300-km2 range. The primary goal of the study was to gauge the power plant’s impact on visibility in the Grand Canyon National Park regions.
