Landfill gas (LFG) emissions or subsurface migration impacting nearby properties is not a new concept. However, increasingly, landfill owners and operators are seeing lawsuits filed by nearby land owners claiming a variety of health, nuisance, odor, and/or other environmental impacts resulting from their alleged exposure to LFG and its constituents.
