LFGE System Operation, Monitoring, and Maintenance

Typical Tasks Performed:

• Start-up, balancing, and adjustment of recovery wells

• Maintenance and repair of recovery wells, appurtenant valving and metering, and header lines, including condensate drains, access manholes, etc.
• Replacement of recovery wells and condensate drains, and major overhaul of header system, as necessary
• Maintenance of site grades to prevent on-site ponding of rain and irrigation runoff
• Performance monitoring of well field; subsequent adjustment, and rebalancing

• Data management

SCS provides start-up and ongoing OM&M services for LFGE systems, as illustrated by these projects:

• OM&M Services for LFG Collection and Flaring System (200 extraction wells, 73,000 feet of piping, automatic condensate handling system, 3 blowers, and 2 flares), Miramar Landfill, San Diego, California.  This site received SWANA’s bronze award for LFG utilization. 
   

• OM&M Services for LFG Collection Systems (120 extraction wells, 17 horizontal extraction wells, 30,000 feet of piping, 39 condensate drains, and blower/flare stations at 3 landfills), Salt River Landfills, Phoenix, Arizona.
   

• OM&M Services, Central Landfill (80 recovery wells), Johnston, Rhode Island.
   

• OM&M Services, Harbor Disposal Site (32 recovery wells), Wilmington, California.
   

• OM&M Services, Industry Hills LFG Recovery Facility (30 recovery wells), Industry Hills, California.
   

• Well Field Start-Up, Balancing, and Adjustment, Ascon Recovery Facility (24 recovery wells), Wilmington, California.
