What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for an Assistant Construction Manager/Project Coordinator to join our Renewable Energy Division. The division focuses on renewable energy design/build/operate projects in the renewable biogas and renewable power markets. SCS Energys biogas-to-energy facilities currently operating, or currently under design or construction, will remove more than 2,000,000 metric tons/year of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Our projects help a diversified client base achieve their renewable energy goals by reducing their carbon footprint and creating useful by-products from waste material. SCS builds systems that power universities, wastewater treatment plants and dairies; generate renewable natural gas sales; and support electric utilities. Position can be remote or located in one of SCSs many offices, supporting SCS Energy and projects throughout the U.S. which right now are more focused on the East Coast.

How you can make an impact

  • Assist Construction Manager with all aspects of construction and site administration.
  • Prepare, apply for and monitor permit applications.
  • Coordinate material deliveries with Contracting Specialist.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work with onsite Construction Superintendents.
  • Arrange for construction support equipment and services (trailers, rental equipment, power, water, internet, etc.)
  • Assist Construction Manager in preparation of trade scopes of work and requests for proposals.
  • Work with Document Control to ensure drawings, submittals, RFIs and other project documents are coordinated between SCS and subcontractors.
  • Perform backup site superintendent duties as required.
  • Travel to job sites up to 25-percent of the time to perform inspections on behalf of Construction Manager and cover for Superintendents.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to travel up to 25% nationwide required and work two Saturdays per month.
  • Associate degree in construction management preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of providing project support for construction projects required.
  • Experience with construction site administration and procedures required.
  • Experience with blueprint reading, compliance requirements, and commercial construction required.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay range for this position is $75k to $85k depending on experience and location. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
