COVID-19: SCS’s efforts to continue serving you today and in the future

As we complete our first week following shelter-in-place and stay-at-home orders, our thoughts are with the many who are affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.  We put the health and safety of our employees, the client and vendor representatives with whom we work, and the public above any other consideration.

SCS is committed and well prepared to continue the delivery of our important services, and we are pleased that our systems and supplies have allowed us to help clients without interruption.

We are monitoring local conditions, Executive Orders, and regulatory guidance for COVID-19 just as we do for other regulatory programs. Our teams follow safety checks and have the appropriate permissions and paperwork to continue working as arranged with our clients and in compliance with applicable orders for each project site. Support for solid waste and hazardous materials risk management and response are recognized by the Department of Homeland Security and others as critical infrastructure work.

Our 70 regional and satellite offices are located near client sites throughout the United States, with additional mobile offices co-located on project sites. Our professionals and technicians live nearby and are driving to project sites, keeping air travel to a minimum. While on-site, we adhere to all safety precautions as advised by the CDC, industry associations, and our own health and safety professionals.

We have and use our national resources as well; if a lab closes in one region or state, we have access to other resources. We use several types of communications channels to reach our national experts to continue the quality work and quick response you expect.

Our employees continue working with full access to our infrastructure and technologies. Our field staff continues working with our clients to keep critical infrastructure running, and our SCS Remote Monitoring and Control and SCSeTools support operations 24/7.

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and have assembled a task force at the highest level of our firm to make sure our important work continues. As circumstances change, we will provide general updates on this website and via client updates from our project and regional managers. We continue adapting to meet our responsibilities safely and thank our clients, vendors, and colleagues for their diligent work and care.
