June 8, 2006

Long Beach – SCS Engineers has been awarded a $2,000,000 contract by the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to perform environmental site investigations at solid waste disposal sites throughout California as part of its Solid Waste Disposal and Codisposal Site Cleanup Program.

The program was enacted to mitigate threats to public health and safety and the environment at solid waste disposal and codisposal sites where the responsible parties either cannot be identified or are unable or unwilling to finance timely remediation. Grants and loans will be awarded to local governments to cover remediation costs.

SCS Engineers will be responsible for performing environmental site investigations to identify potential remediation sites, and will assist the CIWMB with development of the scope of work for CIWMB-managed contractors to remediate the approved sites. Ray Huff is serving as program manager for SCS Engineers, with Pat Sullivan as reviewing principal.

Subcontractors involved are LEE & RO, Inc., Diaz Yourman & Associates, Hushmand Associates, Inc., IK Curtis, Gregg Drilling & Testing, Inc., Global Environmental Network, Inc., and Twining Labs.
