LONG BEACH, Calif. – The City of Long Beach, acting through its Board of Harbor Commissioners, has entered into a two-year contract with SCS Engineers for on-call occupational safety and industrial hygiene services with the Port of Long Beach. Specific projects and services will be established by the Port’s director of risk management.
“SCS Engineers will provide the City of Long Beach with the expertise to ensure that our operations remain safe and effective” said Richard Baratta, director of risk management for the Port of Long Beach. “SCS will assist our team in maintaining the Port’s longstanding reputation for industrial hygiene and safety.”
The Port of Long Beach is the second busiest seaport in the United States, handling more than $180 billion in cargo annually.
