IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. – SCS Engineers have been contracted by Project Design Consultants to provide environmental consulting services on the City of Imperial Beach’s Palm Avenue Mixed Use and Commercial Corridor Master Plan Project (Project). Thus far, SCS Engineers have completed a Phase I environmental site assessment (ESA) for the entire length of the Project.

The Project includes an approximately 1.2-mile section of Palm Avenue on State Route 75 (SR-75) that will be improved with new medians, sidewalks, landscaping, and drainage systems, and is intended to promote a design that will improve the streetscape, roadway, and traffic, incorporate pedestrian improvements, and provide enhanced safety, appearance and functionality to support vibrant commercial and mixed use development.

“SCS Engineers is looking forward to providing environmental consulting services during the duration of this project,” said Luke Montague, the Environmental Due Diligence Manager at SCS Engineers. “The project will redesign Palm Avenue to better serve all modes of travel by creating a safe environment for pedestrians and bicycling, and will add improvements that will help modernize and revitalize the area.”
