SANTA MARIA, Cal. – SCS Tracer, a division of SCS Engineers, an environmental consulting and contracting firm, was recently announced as a finalist as the Engineering Company of the Year in the 2013 West Coast Oil and Gas Awards. SCS was selected for its demonstrated expertise in utilizing new and advanced tracer technologies.
Finalists are chosen by a panel of 50 industry experts including representatives from Shell Oil Company, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Texas A&M University, and the Oil and Gas Financial Journal.
The Engineering Company of the Year Award recognizes engineering excellence and notable achievements in regions across the United States. The judges consider companies spanning oilfield infrastructure projects, gathering stations, and pipeline work, as well as assignments carried out on processing stations, distribution facilities or streamlining projects, which have met the exacting specifications and technologically advanced demands of the energy sector.
“We’re excited that the oil and gas industry recognizes the value of our diagnostic tools and the quality of our work,” said Tom Rappolt, Vice President of Environmental Studies at SCS Engineers. “The application of tracers is a practical way to solve a wide array of complex environmental impact problems, and is safe for humans, animals, and for the environment.”
