SCS Engineers Hires Solavann Sim as Senior Project Manager

LONG BEACH, Calif. – SCS Engineers welcomes Solavann Sim as Senior Project Manager to the company’s Southwest Solid Waste Division. His experience in landfill environmental control systems and construction adds even more depth to benefit SCS’s clientele.

At SCS, Sim will be responsible for planning, executing and implementing projects in waste management, landfill gas management, and landfill construction, monitoring and maintenance.

“Solavann brings extensive knowledge of landfill and solid waste management; important practice areas for SCS in Southern California,” said SCS Engineers Senior Vice President Pat Sullivan. “His expertise in waste management includes modern techniques and technologies that we use to provide clients with thoughtful solutions suited to their priorities.”

Previously, Sim served as the Gas Operations Manager for Waste Management, Inc. (WM), where he oversaw all landfill gas operations at nine WM landfills in Southern California and Hawaii. He taught WM’s Landfill Gas Technician Program, and conducted numerous in-house training programs for WM employees as well. Sim was the Site Engineer at WM’s El Sobrante Landfill for two years where he was responsible for managing the design and construction of landfill cell liners, landfill final cover systems, and landfill gas well and piping projects. Enhancing his operations and technical background are several years as a superintendent of construction and field operations, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University, Fullerton.
