SCS Engineers’ Pete Carrico Elected President of the SWANA Old Dominion Chapter

RESTON, VA. – Pete Carrico, Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of SCS Engineers, was recently elected President of the Virginia Old Dominion Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). Mr. Carrico, currently Vice President of the Old Dominion Chapter, has served on the chapter’s Board of Directors since 2003, when he was elected the Training Committee Chair, after which he was elected Secretary. He will assume his role as President on January 1, 2015.

Mr. Carrico is SCS Engineers’ Eastern Regional Manager for Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OM&M). He is responsible for operating and maintaining more than 50 landfill gas O&M systems throughout the Eastern United States and a staff of more than 40 employees. Mr. Carrico holds a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.

Participation in SWANA has been rewarding for Mr. Carrico, providing him opportunities to work with other solid waste professionals throughout the United States. Mr. Carrico has been active in SWANA since 1994 on international, national, and state chapter levels. He was the recipient of the SWANA 2012 Distinguished Individual Achievement Award by the Landfill Gas Management Technical Division.
