SCS was retained in April 2010 by a confidential client, to prepare a master plan for the regional composting facility, located in the Mojave Desert area of Southern California.
The facility, permitted for 700 tons per day under a Solid Waste Facilities Permit, sought to expand the current area from 25 acres to 55 acres and add additional segregation and stockpiling, special material areas, liquids management, storm water controls and an administrative office complex. SCS analyzed current waste streams and feed stock, and prepared site grading plans, master plan documents and facility descriptions for the expansion for client’s use in obtaining local land use and permitting approvals. The facility currently operates at about 125 tons per day.
