What we are looking for

We are looking for a Senior Engineer/Senior Project Manager to continue our growth in the Solid Waste and Environmental Services industries in our Little Rock, Arkansas office. You will manage both clients and projects and help develop junior staff. As a Senior Engineer, you will oversee the development of technical reports and engineering design documents. Project management involves delegating work, tracking project financials, and providing technical document reviews. Remote (at-home) work flexibility is possible in this position.

As part of our Central regional team, you will draw from our network of professionals in Little Rock, Overland Park and Wichita, Kansas, Omaha, St. Louis, and Oklahoma City. How you can make an impact

As our Senior Project Manager and Engineer for the Little Rock are, you will wear several hats, including Project Management responsibility, growing the ES Practice, and serving as a Seller-Doer.

You will contribute to our growth by:

  • Developing new and existing clients.
  • Integrating with other solid waste and engineering staff across the company.
  • Managing and be responsible for Profit/Loss of projects.
  • Seeking profitable ways to increase engineering staff across the greater Little Rock area.
  • Helping us increase the number and value of projects we do for existing customers.
  • Attending Trade Shows, presenting on technical topics, and being involved in professional associations and committees.

As a Seller you will contribute to our growth by:

  • Playing a lead role in new client acquisition.
  • Collaborating with us as we develop strategies for expanding the ways in which we contribute to our clients’ success.
  • Drafting and reviewing proposals
  • Enhancing the value of the services that we perform for existing clients.

As a Doer you will collaborate with a team of professionals, including SCS’ national experts in different fields, to assist our clients in resolving a wide variety of environmental challenges to include:

  • Permitting, design, and construction

Municipal solid waste landfills

Landfill gas and biogas

Coal ash landfills and impoundments

  • Sustainable materials management

Recycling

Waste minimization studies

Organics management

Composting

Your project management responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the primary lead and contact for projects.
  • Leading permitting and regulatory agency coordination efforts
  • Developing strategies to solve technical challenges.
  • Mentoring and delegating to junior staff to grow their knowledge and further their career path.
  • Reviewing designs, drawings, calculations, and permit documents for final submittal to clients or applicable agencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master of Science Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering required. E.I.T. required and Arkansas P.E. registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of related work experience required, with 5+ years in consulting required.
  • Willingness to participate in business development in the Little Rock area market required.
  • Experience managing project financials.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory agencies and applicable codes.
  • Outstanding customer service record
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing required.

Pay range for this position is $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 depending on experience and location. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
