Waste360 highlights how landfills and non-profits are partnering to reduce waste and GHG by reusing many items thrown away that are perfectly good. Besides the environmental benefits and saving landfill airspace, these reuse models can also create jobs.
It’s amazing the variety of reuse these programs offer, including reusable building materials — tools, banisters, cabinets, cinderblocks, bricks, flooring, hardware, and lights/lamps, among other salvageable items. Many take books, CDs, DVDs, and video games that can be resold or donated.
