Michigan RNG facility begins operations | Biomass Magazine

Contributing to a clean energy future, the Wood Road Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Facility opens. The landfill gas to RNG facility is the first of its kind in Lansing, Michigan. The renewable energy system extracts and converts about 19,000 tons of methane from landfill gas per year from a local landfill. That means it displaces about 29,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalents (tCO2-e) per year that would have otherwise resulted from combusting comparable fossil fuels, the equivalent to taking 5,700 cars off the road each year.
