“Developing solar on a landfill is a tricky business because you have to interact with landfill owners, designers, investors, utilities and regulators,” says Eric Peterson of SCS Engineers. “It’s a lot of pieces to make a project go. And you have to build a solid case to convince each stakeholder that they want to work with you and it will be a win for them. It takes a lot of technical skill, people skills and business savvy.
