What Landfill Operators Should Know About Methane Oxidation, Waste360, Dec. 2020

SCS Engineers Ray Huff and Patrick Sullivan discuss methane oxidation in landfill covers. Emerging research implies that oxidation can vary from 10 to 35 percent.  Among influencers of oxidation capacity are soil cover type and flux. This knowledge led to the EPA’s reconsideration of oxidation potential, motivating some landfill operators to think about how they can boost this natural process and ultimately cut greenhouse gas emissions.
