Doug Doerr, PE, is SCS Engineers’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His over three-decade career has exclusively been in the engineering/consulting industry, where he has focused on assisting clients with environmental and business challenges. He prides himself on developing deep and long-lasting client relationships and facilitating a servant leadership culture among colleagues. As the CEO of SCS, he is responsible for setting the company’s strategic goals, leading the executive leadership team, and managing the company’s overall health. He is passionate about working closely with the leadership team to drive a company culture that provides an unsurpassed employee experience, a collaborative One SCS environment, and client success. Ultimately, these efforts drive long-term shareholder value through the sustainable growth of SCS’s 100% employee-owned firm. Doug is a degreed and licensed civil engineer with a BS from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MBA from the University of Kansas.
Doug has directed or conducted numerous projects involving all facets of solid waste management nationwide, including the permitting, design, construction, and compliance of various types of disposal facilities and supporting infrastructure. Projects include feasibility and financial studies, due diligence, facility siting, site investigations, environmental studies, and permitting, design, and construction services for solid waste landfills, industrial waste landfills, utility waste/coal combustion residuals impoundments and landfills, transfer stations, power plants, and various other industrial and commercial facilities. Permitting and compliance efforts have involved solid waste, stormwater, air permits, environmental and local/regional/state use, and zoning requirements.
