Dispersion Modeling – Delco Remy, Anaheim, California

SCS Engineers conducted various dispersion modeling analyses to evaluate the facility’s compliance with Proposition 65. Analyses were conducted using the EPA’s AERMOD dispersion model to estimate the off-site cancer burden and reproductive impacts.

SCS Engineers prepared Delco Remy’s Compliance Plan pursuant to SCAQMD Rule 1420. As part of the Compliance Plan, extensive atmospheric dispersion modeling was performed to predict the locations of maximum monthly and maximum quarterly impacts associated with emissions of lead from the facility. The dispersion modeling results were then used as the basis for positioning a network of ambient air monitors.

SCS prepared and filed a permit variance for the facility, which could not meet the implementation deadlines associated with SCAQMD Rule 1420.
