SCS Engineers is looking for a Prevailing Wage Payroll Administrator to be in-office or hybrid in our Long Beach Headquarters. As a Payroll Administrator, you will work collaboratively as part of the Payroll and Accounting team and will be responsible for the administration of payroll processing and support for the Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist. You will report to the Payroll Manager.

Assist Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist with prevailing wage compliance processing.
Certified payroll reporting. maintenance of payroll reports and project files, ensuring accuracy for record keeping and audits.
Monitor subcontractor certified payroll reporting and labor compliance for accuracy.
Ensure apprenticeship ratio standards are met in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Assist with preparation of payroll documents for prevailing wage compliance.
Reconcile payroll data to accounting system prior to final transmission and posting of semimonthly payroll.
Respond to employee inquires and requests regarding prevailing wage matters.
Calculation of prevailing wage rates for multi-state public works projects, using fringe benefit offsets for applicable job classifications.
Prepare and maintain Fringe Benefit Statements.
Maintenance of labor codes and rate tables in accounting system.
Monitor and submit required monthly apprenticeship training and union contributions.
Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll & prevailing wage laws and regulations, ensuring compliance.
Enter, maintain, and audit employee information, ensuring consistency & accuracy across multiple systems.
Process and reconcile manual checks to ensure accuracy.
Assist with semimonthly payroll processing.
Support month end closing tasks as needed.
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Multi-state payroll experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting preferred.
Supplementary training and/or designations related to prevailing wage compliance or equivalent education and experience is preferred. (LCPtracker Academy, PayrollOrg, SHRM)
2 to 4 years of relevant payroll experience.
Experience with FLSA, Wage and Hour regulations, and best practices as they relate to payroll processing in a multi-state environment.
Must have knowledge of working in the construction industry and handling prevailing wage, certified payroll and contract compliance.
Pay range for this position is $22 to $24/hour depending on experience. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
