Environmental Due Diligence – City Of West Sacramento, California

SCS Engineers was retained by the City of West Sacramento to perform AAI Phase I ESAs Environmental Due Diligenceusing ASTM 1527-13 for preliminary evaluation of the environmental history and condition of a portfolio of 32 individual land parcels, placed into 17 groups.  The project was funded by a USEPA Brownfield Community Wide Assessment Grant.  The properties are located within the Redevelopment area of West Sacramento.

The properties comprise slightly more than 540 acres, are not actively used, and in many cases consist of vacant land. The purpose of the assessments was to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs) associated with the properties, prior to sale or redevelopment. Tasks performed for the AAI Phase I ESAs include historical site use information review, site reconnaissance, review of regulatory databases, interviews, and preparation of a written summary reports.

SCS successfully delivered 17 AAI-compliant Phase I ESA Reports to the Client and EPA, using Central Desktop as a primary file and document sharing mechanism. In addition, SCS supported the Client by preparing EPA Brownfield Grant Applications for reimbursement of the ESA costs.
