SCS Energy: Multiple Dairy Digester Gas to RNG Plants in California

CalBio Dairy DG to RNG Plants

SCS is designing three dairy digester gas to renewable natural gas (DG-to-RNG) plants in California’s Central Valley. The projects are sized at 1,500 scfm, 1,500 scfm, and 3,000 scfm.

Each plant will employ advanced membrane technology to achieve higher CH4 recovery and increased O2 removal. The RNG plants will deliver the natural gas to SoCalGas and meet their Rule 30. The plants come online in 2019, employing the following technologies:

  • DG compression with flooded-screw compression;
  • DG refrigeration;
  • Activated carbon treatment;
  • Membranes for CO2 removal; and
  • Product gas compression to 300 psig or 800 psig.
