Chris Petro is a Project Manager for our Tracer division, providing technical and managerial support for environmental, regulatory, and land use projects. He has 15 years of experience in planning, engineering, grant writing and construction development. He currently manages projects in SCS’s Central California Compliance environmental services group with offices in Santa Maria and Bakersfield, California.
Additional experience includes working as an engineer for the City of Santa Maria, CA. He worked extensively with CEQA, MPO, county, state and federal government regulatory bodies, including environmental review, clearance, permitting and all logistical issues pertaining to inter-jurisdictional needs for capital improvement projects.
Mr. Petro planned, scoped, designed and managed the construction of capital improvement projects worth millions of dollars for the City of Santa Maria. He managed development and application of over $5M in county, state, and federal grants, and served as project manager for a two-year development of the City of Santa Maria’s first Active Transportation Plan, a multi-disciplinary plan detailing existing city infrastructure, harmonizing the bicycle, pedestrian, ADA and Safe Routes to School plans by analyzing different metrics (e.g. level of traffic stress, land use criteria) for existing and future infrastructure opportunities including accounting for right of way and zoning constraints.
