Mr. Caruso currently manages the Portland, Oregon, office of SCS Engineers/Field Services, which employs several geologists, environmental scientists, and field service technicians. He is a Licensed Geologist and Hydrogeologist in the State of Washington. Mr. Caruso leads SCS’s Northwest area landfill hydrogeology/environmental compliance group and serves as Client Manager for several of SCS’s large Northwest landfill clients and facilities. Mr. Caruso has worked on a wide range of solid waste related projects, including preparation of environmental monitoring plans, site characterization studies in support of lateral expansion of existing facilities, preliminary assessments, remedial investigation and feasibility study (RI/FS) and Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) groundwater investigations, landfill gas-related contaminant investigations, and design and installation of compliance monitoring networks at closed and active municipal solid waste (MSW) and construction, demolition and land clearing debris (CDL) landfills in the Northwest. His current responsibilities include designing work scopes, providing technical oversight for projects; assessing, interpreting, and reporting information to clients and agencies; providing senior review of technical reports and work plans; developing and managing project budgets; directing field services staff, environmental scientist, and geologists/hydrogeologists, and working collaboratively with landfill engineers on joint projects.
